I have some exciting news to share with you -- Radical in Christ Ministries has a new pastor! Pastor Mary Turner who has been with the ministry for six years is now the pastor. God has equipped her and prepared the ministry for this change.
The ministry is growing in depth as well as numbers. But I always remind everyone that's more about relationship with Jesus than anything else. So to the Radical Family, remember the vision and what God has mandated! Know who you are individually and corporately and never be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ nor of the work that He is currently doing in you. We are all a work in progress -- what a wonderful time to be in the Kingdom.
To the leadership team, you are ready! Do what the Lord has told you to do. Hear and obey!
To the membership, there are no such things as pew sitters. Be honest with yourself and be honor with God and let Him do the work in you. God has a plan for your life. Are you ready?
My assignment has shifted. I am working as a team leader with my apostles with the work of the ministry. I will continue to be available to Radical in Christ Ministries and the other ministries that I work with in the state of Virginia. I will write from time to time and beginning soon, Pastor Mary will be in touch with you.
Love and blessings,
Pastor Cathy

Welcome to the first installment of my blog - Pastoring in CVille. I often refer to Charlottesville as the back side of the mountain. It is an assignment that has been difficult yet fulfilling. This town is used to church as usual, but there is nothing "usual" about the church that was birthed in the first century. Why have we regressed into such predictability. I've been called an upstart, innocent, radical (I rather like this on), and many other names. But this is the part where I'm reminded that Jesus said if we're persecuted for the sake of the gospel, then we're in good company. So, that said ... here we go. An honest (and I'll try to be objective) view of pastoring in Charlottesville.Radical in Christ Ministries is a remnant of the Body of Christ. We are not alone, but it often feels that way. Working in the kingdom, striving to do God's work His way has become unpopular. Our society no longer applauds pastors with a heart like Paul or Peter ... one who is seeking to simply know HIM! I care not for the titles (although they seem necessary from time to time) nor for the fanfare. I care for the sheep and that which is important to God. Why is it that so many pastors call the church in which they serve "MY" church. It is God's church and he has very specific plans and instructions for every single one. If we could get rid of the jealousy, competition and the back-biting, then we might be able to form a body without spot or wrinkle. There are so many people who are lost ... if we could be as busy ministering to the lost as we tend to be in getting in God's way, how effective could we be? Oh well, until next time ... Pastor Cathy
